In a cubicle so gray and small, A man trudged through life, with no dreams at all. His job mundane, his existence confined, Each day a struggle, and hope hard to find. But fate had a plan, one twist of the tale, A ticket of fortune, a wind in his sail. The lottery won, a new life began, A life full of riches, the envy of man. He bought cars and mansions, the finest of things, A life fit for royalty, or so it seems. But as days turned to months, his joy did recede, For with all of his wealth, came envy and greed. His friends turned to foes, his life a mirage, A maddening cycle, a heart-wrenching barrage. He longed for the days of simplicity's touch, A life without pomp, he missed it so much. He sold all he had, to start anew, Gave up the riches that once he knew. He chose the life of a homeless soul, The streets his shelter, freedom his goal. He roamed with the wind, with no burdens to bear, Embracing the life of a nomad's affair. The stars were his roof, the earth his bed, A life unchained, his spirit now fed. In this humble existence, true joy he found, A happiness pure, unshackled and unbound. For in letting go of material things, He discovered the peace that simplicity brings.
